PowerPoint has the experience and expertise necessary to provide alternative energy systems for many applications. With the need for alternative energy ever increasing and becoming a sought after resource, PowerPoint can offer a wide variety of systems using the latest technologies available.
Renewable energy systems were introduced to PowerPoint’s portfolio of equipment and installations as many of our utilities based customers are demanding lower installation and running costs for many of their monitoring and control systems. In conjunction with one of our key services, (providing telemetry / SCADA / monitoring systems) we have installed many solar powered monitoring sites for British Waterways and The Environment Agency. These installations eliminate the requirement for expensive civil works required to route power and communications cabling to these monitoring locations and also reduce the associated connection and usage costs involved. Typically these installations involved small solar systems.
We have greatly enhanced the energy production and stability by incorporating two or more renewable energy sources into one system. This can involve combining the technologies of photo voltaic arrays (PV) and wind turbines to ensure an extremely reliable supply of energy is provided.

With continued in-house development we also now supply and install wind powered systems and large scale photo voltaic arrays with custom designed battery backup facilities.
Where the mains is available instead of surplus power being stored in batteries, renewable energy systems such as photo voltaic arrays and wind turbines can be connected to a standard household consumer unit or industrial distribution equipment simply by means of a special synchronous inverter and control equipment - allowing any home or business to generate power from renewable sources.
