Our experience is such that the first telemetry systems we provided back in 1982 used eight track cartridge tapes to convey alarm information via the PSTN telephone network. Back then verbal alarm messages were pre-recorded onto the tape cartridges with the appropriate message being transmitted to designated telephone numbers when an alarm condition occurred. Whilst systems providing alarm information in a speech format can still be provided, technological advances now also allow us to offer sophisticated systems with far greater capabilities, including comprehensive data collection/transfer, reactive logic control capabilities and video data transmission.
